Course Description - Basic Computer Skill (BCS)
Learners who may or may not have basic knowledge about Microsoft Office or learners who wants to become more proficient in creating documents, preparing spreadsheets, creating database and preparing presentations also can join in this basic computer skill course. Learners also will receive an overview of the interface and learn the various methods for entering and editing data. Additionally, students will learn the various ways to write simple formulas, work with functions, preparing presentations and preparing databases.
Course Objective
- To be proficient in important Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- To create documents for printing and sharing
- To handle spreadsheets
- To create and share presentations
- To create and handle database

Instructional Methods
- At the start of course, the course delivery pattern, prerequisite of the subject will be discussed.
- Classes will be conducted with the aid of multi-media projector, black board, OHP, Computer etc.
- For each module completed there will be a theory and practical test.
- At the end of the course there will be a Project (Internal and External) and followed by a Theory and Practical test for entire course.
- Assignments based on the course content will be given to the students for each unit and will be evaluated.
